What next?
You will need to explore the options and make your course choices in SEPTEMBER. You will find information on each course on the pages listed in course categories menu above, including video vignettes from students who have taken the course, course guides and contact details for course coordinators.
There is also the option to undertake an alternative project (ME33A1- 15 credits and ME33A2 - 30 credits) but you will need to submit a proposal and go through an approval process for this prior to the summer - DEADLINE Wednesday 29th May. Please submit using proposal form to Dr Bodkin by email
What can I get from this SSC?
As with any venture, the more you put into the SSC the more you will get out of it, and some background reading before the SSC starts will no doubt help. You may also choose to contact course coordinators to explore ideas about possible projects and essay topics. For some courses, the information may be updated further in the months leading up to the SSC.
All options will provide you with opportunities to develop generic attributes and skills all University graduates should achieve for more information see: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/graduateattributes/
We hope that you will see the SSC as an opportunity to pursue special interests and questions that have arisen during your studies to date or that are related to your future ambitions. If you want to go further there is an intercalated degree in medical humanities.
If you do well there is scope for enhancing your CV via this SSC - with a prize, conference paper, or even a publication. The Medical School awards prizes for the best work in the SSC both for each course and overall. See Prizes and Publications for more information on other opportunities.
