An opportunity has arisen to join the Careers and Employability Service team in an administrative role. The work of the Careers and Employability Service is defined by our vision: Inspiring career success for all through collaboration, innovation and professionalism. We’re a busy team providing careers guidance and events for students and graduates, embedding employability into the curriculum, and working with employers to create opportunities through internships and careers fairs. We run a range of programmes, including our innovative paid part time ABDN Internship programme, a shadowing scheme, a career mentoring programme and volunteering spotlight series.

Job Description

The Careers and Employability Service is part of the Directorate of People.

The Administration Coordinator will lead in all administration related support across a range of careers-related core services, projects and activities within the Careers and Employability Service. The role involves delivering a range of in person and electronic frontline services, vacancy handling and recruitment and selection activities related to internships, shadowing and mentoring programmes. The post-holder will provide finance support, and support training and events, as well as website and CRM/systems.

The Careers & Employability team is looking for a team player, with a professional attitude and strong interpersonal and organisational skills, to support the wide range and volume of services and activities delivered by the Service.

You will have a strong customer focus to be able to provide a friendly, welcoming and supportive service to our diverse student body, an empathetic communication style and the ability to work collegiately with relevant stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for our students.

Excellent organisation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail are required to successfully support the smooth and efficient running of our services for the benefit of students, employers and staff.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 scale, £27,319 - £31,236 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
