Flower boat, Johnshaven
A planting scheme and rockery utilising a yellow painted old boat. These rather kitsch planting schemes (and arrangements of creels, rocks, driftwood and etc.) still seem to abound in the north east, boats on the coast and wheelbarrows and farm carts inland. I rather worry how many once serviceable (and beautiful) traditional vehicles have been destroyed for this purpose for, to my taste, no aesthetic gain.
Johnshaven War Memorial
The war memorial of Benholm and Johnshaven stands on New Road near the square and commemorate the dead from the parish of Benholm from both World War I & II. It is a tapering rectangular column surmounted by a cross decorated with celtic knotwork on a small base decorated with thistles (between the cross and the main column). It stands on a solid rectangular stepped base. The base bears the makers name 'A Robertson & son Hardgate Aberdeen. Erected March 18, 1923.

A relief ceramic? plaque mounted on driftwood and suspended with a scrap of fishing net.
Ship Hotel sign Johnshaven
A beautiful little sign if somewhat distressed, appears to be in enamelled steel? A convex oval with repoussé lettering and a decoration of a three masted ship.
