We celebrated our 30th anniversary with staff, students, and friends at a Civic Reception hosted by The Lord Provost, David Cameron, of Aberdeen City Council, at the Town House on Wednesday, 22 January 2025.
The Lord Provost welcomed everyone and praised the Institute's work over the past 30 years. Director of the Elphinstone Institute, Dr Thomas McKean gave a talk highlighting many achievements by the Institute over the years. North-East Makar, Sheena Blackhall, recited a specially dedicated poem, and we had outstanding performances from Owen and Rueben of SC&T Youth who played traditional tunes to the delight of all who attended.
We thank the Lord Provost for honouring the Elphinstone Institute in its 30th anniversary year, and we were pleased to share the evening celebration with over 100 invited guests. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the success of the Institute over the past 30 years, especially the Friends of the Elphinstone Institute.
