David Buchan Lecture: Connecting People, Connecting Culture

To celebrate the Elphinstone Institute's 30^th anniversary, this year’s speaker will be Institute director Thomas A. McKean, who will focus on his work in Scotland, Guatemala, and New York City to show how culture and community are closely intertwined.

He will discuss how song, weaving, and boatbuilding traditions are used to build cultural confidence in projects around the world.
