About Art History

Art History is a research-intensive department with lecturers who are engaging in innovative research. The flexible structure of our degrees allows you to explore subjects outside your specialist area, including courses in other disciplines.

You will gain extensive knowledge of art history from the Middle Ages to the present day, covering a range of media and techniques. Across all four years, you will engage with original artworks on campus, in museums and galleries, and the field.
