Great to see Charlotte Branson presenting her work at the 16th Meeting of the International Academy of Health Preference Research today.
Charlotte’s talk was entitled: User Preferences for the Use of AI in the National Breast Screening Programme: A Discrete Choice Experiment
Early findings suggest that women prefer breast screening services where AI is used as part of the decision-making processes, rather than replacing humans. Increased cancer detection and shorter waiting times were the most valued improvements, while concerns like overdiagnosis and false positives had little influence on choices. These insights highlight that how AI is implemented could significantly impact uptake of the Breast Screening Programme in the UK.
