Overview
The 2025 NHS-R/NHS.pycom Open Source Conference (‘RPySOC 2025’) will be a hybrid event, hosted by Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) in person at the Wellcome Trust in London and online throughout Thursday 13 and Friday 14 November 2025.
This is an important opportunity for members of our open source and health data community to showcase their work, share expertise, and explore the future of open source coding and how it can drive better outcomes for patients.
We are curating a programme of talks, tutorials, and discussions designed to be useful, insightful, and inspiring — all under the theme of improving patient care through the use of open source tools and data-driven innovation.
Leadership & Collaboration
The NHS-R Community (and the RPySOC 2025 Conference) is led by the Strategy Unit, with HDR UK as host and principal sponsor, working in partnership with NHS colleagues and stakeholders across the UK health and care system.
All sessions will be live-streamed, recorded, and chaired by experienced facilitators to ensure wide accessibility and impact.
HDR UK’s role
At HDR UK, we bring together academia, healthcare, industry, charities, patients and the public to advance health data science. Our work spans clinical, biological, genomic, and multi-dimensional data, addressing some of the most pressing challenges in health research.
By hosting RPySOC 2025, HDR UK is proud to provide a platform for open source innovation and training that supports the NHS and wider health community, ensuring ideas are shared, developed, and translated into better care for patients.
