Frequently Asked Questions

Detailed information about the registration process for students is available on our Registration and Course Administration page.

Almost, but there are a few further steps for you to work through to become a fully registered student. The steps will differ depending on what type of student you are. You will find more information about the registration process on our Registration page.

Contact the Registration Support team (Details on how to contact the Registration Support Service can be found in the yellow banner on the MyCurriculum launch page).

If you are a new student at least a day must have passed since you were issued joining instructions. This allows time for your admissions record to be transferred to our Student Record system. You should also take note of the opening dates for registration and MyCurriculum for your programme of study.

  • If you have a debt from the previous academic year you may be unable to register until your debt is cleared, or a payment plan agreement is reached. Contact Credit Control to discuss this creditctr@abdn.ac.uk.
  • If you have requested readmission or degree transfer, you should wait until you are notified that your request has been actioned. If relevant, ensure you have responded to accept the offer of readmission or transfer. If in doubt contact undergraduate@abdn.ac.uk or postgraduate@abdn.ac.uk as appropriate.

Our friendly Admissions team will be able to help explain your joining instructions.

The first step of Registration is  IT Account Activation. This is where you will receive your student username and email address. Please take note of these as you will need them for the next stages.

To set up your IT account, you will need your Student ID which can be found on your email correspondence from us.

After IT Account Activation you will need to complete Online Registration via the Student Hub – please remember to also Upload Your Photo. Once you have completed this the next stage is to select your courses via MyCurriculum.

Once you have completed MyCurriculum you will be able to access MyTimetable  to personalise your timetable.

If you are having issues with your IT Account Activation, please email our IT Service Desk: servicedesk@abdn.ac.uk At the start of term they may be experiencing a high volume of queries so there may be a short wait for a response.

  • Please note the first time you set up your IT account you will only need your Student ID number (sent to you by email) and your Date of Birth.
  • If you have forgotten your login-details after setting up your IT account please contact our IT team: Support : IT Service Desk (freshservice.com)
