Solidworks
Computer aided design tool used by engineers
Solidworks is computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software used to design products, perform simulations, create 2D drawings, make annotated 3D models and produce files for 3D printing.
At the University, the software is typically used by our engineering students but all eligible University staff and students can install Solidworks on a personal computer through the Software Download Service, which can be accessed in the Links section of this resource. You can download the installation instructions and the software, which is only available for Windows.
SolidWorks Beginners Guide video series on YouTube, SolidWorks CAD Fundamentals Training and other helpful information can also be found in the Links section.
