Once you complete the Terms & Conditions section of Online Registration you will be asked to inform the University who will be paying your tuition fees – we may already know this if we have been told, for example, that you have a scholarship.

If you cannot complete the fees section at this time you will be able to continue to complete the next step in the registration process (e.g Step 3 Choose your courses through MyCurriculum). For further information click here and scroll to the section that relates to you.

When the fees change request is resolved later, you will be able to accept the financial declaration in the online registration page.

Accommodation fees cannot be paid through Online Registration, however, there are many easy ways to arrange payment of your accommodation fees. Our Making a Payment webpage provides information about the different payment methods accepted for accommodation fees.

Unfortunately not; a discount is not offered for paying your tuition fees in one complete payment.

All students expecting the Scottish Government to pay their tuition fees must apply to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) and must reapply every year. SAAS will send you an award letter when sponsorship is confirmed and they will pay your tuition fees directly to the University.

Your tuition fees will now be incorrect. Contact our Tuition Fees team at tuitionfees@abdn.ac.uk and they will adjust your fees accordingly. This might take a couple of days, so check back to the fees part of Online Registration in a few days.

If you have accepted the finance declaration, you can select the ‘pay later’ option. Please note that payment will be required within 30 days. A minimum of 50% will be required. The rest can be paid in instalments if you take out a payment plan. For alternative ways to pay and for details on how to complete a payment plan, visit our Making a Payment website.

You should wait up to 48 hours; within this time your tuition fees will be assessed and you will be able to complete the finance section. If your fees are still not displaying after 48 hours please contact our Tuition Fees team at tuitionfees@abdn.ac.uk.

Online Registration only shows the amount of tuition fees you are to be charged and does not take into account any payments already made. You should contact payments@abdn.ac.uk if you need confirmation of your payment.

If you have paid your fees you can accept the financial declaration and select the ‘pay later’ option. You will then be able to complete the remaining steps of the registration process.

Tuition fee change requests will be reviewed by our Tuition Fees team within seven working days.

While you wait for your fee change to be considered, you will be able to continue to complete the next step in the registration process (e.g Step 3 "Choose your courses through MyCurriculum"). You will find more information about the registration process on our Registration website.

When your fee change request is concluded, you will be able to accept the financial declaration in Online Registration. If your fee change request is not accepted you will be contacted for further details.

If you are sponsored by someone other than SAAS, you should email a copy of your sponsor letter to tuitionfees@abdn.ac.uk.

Students funded by SAAS DO NOT need to send a copy of their SAAS letter to tuition fees. SAAS will inform the University of the students they are paying and we will only act on their instruction.

If SAAS is paying your fees, they will inform our Fees team and we will update your fees.

It’s important that the name on the SAAS award letter exactly matches your name in our records, i.e. Ben Smith/Benjamin Smith. Our fee records will not update unless the first name and surname match.

  • If there is a mismatch you should update your name via the SAAS website to get a new award letter.

If you expect your fees to be paid by Student Finance SLC/sponsor/grant/scholarship, email the award letter/financial guarantee letter to our Tuition Fees team at tuitionfees@abdn.ac.uk.

If you expect SAAS to pay your tuition fees you should tell us this. Submit a change request through Online Registration so that your tuition fees can be reviewed, indicating SAAS as the payer.

You do not need to submit a copy of your award letter from SAAS because SAAS will inform the University of the students they are funding. The University will act on their instruction.
