This course lays equal emphasis on reading, writing, listening and speaking, and in general insists as much on accuracy as on fluency. It presents certain intermediate grammatical structures and covers some techniques of translation. It also offers students opportunities to improve their communication skills through group work and discussion. The course consists of three timetabled weekly hours: one language lecture (with interactive activities); one language seminar hour; and one oral class. In addition, students follow a structured programme of private study, including a weekly listening task and step-by-step preparation and practice materials.
Information on contact teaching time is available from the course guide.
