Welcome to the latest edition of Voic:E, bringing you news and updates from your alma mater. We are always delighted to hear from you about what you would like to see featured in future editions, so please let us know your thoughts at alumni@abdn.ac.uk.

In this issue we bring news of the impact of our Covid-19 525 Bursary Appeal; fascinating stories about some of our medical alumni; features on two of the stars of our ‘From Aberdeen To…’ campaign; and news of the University’s success in two of the most respected global league tables, plus much more.

Warmest wishes,

Katrina Allan, Head of Alumni Relations & Regular Giving

Tributes for Joe Swierzbinski

Like many of our alumni, we were deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Joseph (Joe) E. Swierzbinski, Professor of Environmental and Energy Economics - a passionate and committed teacher and supervisor.

As a tribute to this inspiring academic we have launched a charitable fund by which to remember him and honour his contributions to the University.

If you would like to make a donation to the fund in Joe’s memory, you will be helping to provide scholarships and bursaries for exceptional students who are experiencing financial hardship in areas that Joe particularly supported while he taught here.
