Frequently Asked Questions

The School Office will not be open, but the admin team can be contacted via a live-chat or by telephone. The opening times for this are:

Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm

You can also submit an enquiry at any time. Please note however that these will only be responded to during working hours. This may be before 9am or after 4pm but there should be no expectation of this.

Information on how to contact your Course Co-ordinator should be available in all course guides including e-mail addresses or office hours through MS Teams.

Sources of up-to-date information can be found on the University webpages: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/about/coronavirus/

If you have received a C6 email it is because there are concerns about your progress with, or attendance at, one or more of your courses. You must engage with the correspondence you have received regarding this, following the instructions given in the email. Further details can be found here: Student Monitoring (C6 & C7)

Please complete the University’s reporting tool – Self Reporting Tool. If you are unwell and unable to attend classes, please also complete absence reporting on MyAberdeen. If you registered for an on campus class but you are well enough to attend online, please attend any online tutorial which can be accessed on MyAberdeen > Collaborate. Your attendance at that class will be recorded and you do not need to notify the school office.

If you are studying online and would like to return to campus, or are currently studying on campus and would like to study online, you can now let your Schools know using the Change of Study Location Form. For students returning to campus, this will allow Schools to check what on-campus options are available for you and facilitate your return. For students wishing to switch to online learning, this will help make Schools aware of your decision and plan resources effectively.

If you have selected classes which are not showing on MyTimetable, you can contact the IT Service Desk on servicedesk@abdn.ac.uk. Please include as much detail as possible.

MyTimetable has now closed and you will no longer be able to use it to make changes to classes for the first sub session. It will reopen in time for students to select their classes for the second sub session.

Please ensure that you have completed Online Registration and MyCurriculum fully. You will receive a confirmation email once MyCurriculum is complete. There is a wait between completing MyCurriculum and being able to access course areas on MyAberdeen. At busy times it can take up to 2 hours between completing MyCurriculum and being able to access course materials in MyAberdeen.

If you have completed all the required steps and waited the correct amount of time, please visit myit.abdn.ac.uk where you can log a ticket and find solutions. Alternatively, you can contact the IT Service Desk on servicedesk@abdn.ac.uk. Please include as much detail as possible.

You can contact the Office to arrange a meeting via Teams if you prefer. Use email, telephone or the live-chat function in the first instance to arrange a suitable time.
