This melody appears in the scrapbook of tunes and accompaniments that Skinner presented to Mrs Barclay of The Gordon Arms Hotel, Keith, after his bankruptcy. Skinner gave a 'farewell concert' in The Music Hall, Aberdeen in 1886 - he had planned to emigrate, probably as a result of his bankruptcy. 'Scott Skinner's Farewell to Scotland', later renamed 'Madge' was performed at that concert. |
