Item Description A request from Skinner to the artist David Waterson to create a publicity image for him. Skinner wanted the image to take the form of himself inside a fiddle. This idea may have been simmering for many years. Skinner's early mentor, the fiddler Peter Milne of Tarland, had once told Skinner that he loved his fiddle so much he could just curl himself up inside it. Skinner wished to use the image of himself in Highland dress set into the form of a fiddle as a publicity image for his concert programmes.
