Poor nutrition negatively impacts on population heath and socioeconomic development. This course is a journey through some of the key milestones that underpin the discipline of Nutrition. It gives an historical perspective of food and nutrition and describes how malnutrition can impact on health and development. It also describes what constitutes a healthy diet, explore the different components and ethical aspects of the food system. Ethical, cultural, physiological and behavioural factors influencing food consumption are also covered.
