EL1535: ENGLISH (ACCESS)

This course is an introduction to English Literature for those who do not know anything about the subject. We will learn what English Literature is and why it is important. We will also consider some of the key questions that are addressed by students and scholars of English Literature.

LS1035: LAW (ACCESS)

This course is an introduction to Law for those who don’t know anything about the subject. We will learn what Law is and why it is important for human progress. We will also consider some of the key questions in modern Scots Law.

MA1035: MATHS (ACCESS)

15 credits

This course is an introduction to Mathematics for those who have either no knowledge of the subject or who have not taken it for a long while. We will learn essential mathematical skills beginning at a basic level and working up to a good working set of abilities that will be applicable in a range of disciplines.

PI1035: SOCIAL SCIENCE (ACCESS)

15 credits

Level 1

First Sub Session

This course is designed to introduce students, who may have little no prior knowledge of Social Science subjects, to the study of social science at both domestic and international level.

The course will cover topics from predominantly Politics and Sociology, including government within the UK, the European Union, political participation, devolution, identity processes in contemporary society, health, inequality and elementary political and sociological theory. It will also serve to introduce students to the skills necessary for successful university study, in a supportive and encouraging environment.
