Course Overview

This course will provide an understanding of the management aspects of reservoir, facilities, pipeline and safety engineering in the hydrocarbon industry.  It will also give an understanding of approaches to risk management and psychology that will enhance management decision-making.

  4. Turbidite reservoir architecture
  5. Trends in reservoir management
  6. Composition and properties of petroleum fluids (compresssibility of gases; phase behaviour and reservoir fluid types; fluid pressure gradients and contacts)
  7. Reservoir drive mechanisms
  8. Volumetric estimation
  9. Undersaturated reservoirs
  10. Material balance, reservoir fluid mechanics, immiscible, displacement, gas utilisation
  11. Secondary Recovery
  12. Situation awareness
  13. Risk Perception
  14. Conformity and groupthink
  15. Leadership and stress at work.
