What we do

The PMO provides a range of services, designed to help support effective management of strategic projects, but also to help you manage your project effectively, through simple and easily accessible guidance on use of the University’s Project Management Methodology and associated tools and techniques. The key PMO functions are:

  • Project Governance: providing oversight of governance arrangements across the strategic portfolio, and assurance to the Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders that strategic projects are being run effectively, and in the right way.
  • Project Assurance: provide a range of assurance services, including Healthcheck exercises, Value Assurance Reviews, and assurance via Board membership. Informal assurance support and advice also offered.
  • Project Management Methodology: the PMO as a key function has responsibility for ownership and maintenance of the University’s Project Management Methodology, in line with best practice and globally recognised standards.
