The School of Geosciences offers an interesting range of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, engaging and academically challenging programmes. Our learning environment is one of support and personal development leading to well rounded and highly employable graduates.
We offer a range of undergraduate single and joint honours degrees across the range of disciplines in the school.
The School has a range of MSc courses in aspects of Archaeology, Geography, and Petroleum Geology. With over 100 MSc students enrolled on our courses each year there is a lively international MSc community.
The School has over 60 PhD students from all across the World. We welcome students with their own funding, as well as offering funding opportunities from a range of sources including schemes for Brazilian and Chinese nationals, UK and EU nationals through University sponsorship and the NERC Oil and Gas Doctoral Training Centre.
All disciplines within the School undertake fieldwork. It is an integral element of our undergraduate programmes and training. We have extensive laboratory facilities housed across the School and are part of the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre.
