    The Centre for Transport Research (CTR) is a research centre of the Department of Geography and Environment within the School of Geosciences  and acts as the focus for transport research at the University of Aberdeen. The Centre’s mission is:

    “to develop a leading research centre of international excellence and reputation in Aberdeen specialising in the sustainability of transport systems with emphasis on environment, society and technology”

    The Centre is initially focusing on two broad themes Transport, Energy and Environment and Transport and Society.

    23rd February: The origins of the taxi and how its use may change in the future is explored in new book by CTR Director Prof John Nelson. Click here for further details.

    5th February: The ICMA Project mid-term conference “Fostering Commuter Modal Switch” is to be held on March 16th 2010 in Frankfurt.
