About Engineering at Aberdeen
The School of Engineering is a recently-established and modern School which offers Honours Degrees of MEng & BEng, and postgraduate opportunities in a wide range of topics across the spectrum of engineering activity. It has a large undergraduate population of around 600 students and approximately 75 postgraduate researchers, and is the only genuine School of General Engineering in Scotland. The School is located, mainly, in the Fraser Noble Building and the major laboratories are being upgraded at a cost of some £8M.
The School has a strong tradition of success in research with an international reputation in a number of areas including applied dynamics, impact mechanics, engineering materials, sediment transport, communications protocols, and holography.
All areas of research in the School are supported by modern laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and fully networked computing facilities including major engineering commercial software. There is excellent technical support provided by electronic and mechanical engineering workshops.
