This page is for those wishing to attend in-person.

We are delighted to welcome Professor Milette Gaifman of Yale University to Aberdeen, to present as part of Geddes-Harrower-Lectures. The opening lecture will take place on Wednesday 15 March and will be followed by a drinks reception and reunion opportunity for graduates

Beginning at 6pm at the King's College Conference Centre, this lecture will discuss 'How to Classify a Monument: Taxonomies and their Limits' and will delve into how classifications inform our understanding of artworks from Classical antiquity. Professor Gaifman will also explore the fundamental role the classificatory act has played in our viewing and understanding of Greek art and architecture in the modern era.

The lecture will run until 7.15pm and will include time for questions. Following the conclusion of the lecture the drinks reception will then begin.
