Course Description

This course covers some of the core elements required by the British Psychological Society. Taught via lectures and tutorials, this course aims to provide a deep understanding of the biological and cognitive bases of human behaviour. Students will be exposed to elements of neuropsychology e.g., neuroimaging and patient studies, and psychopharmacology e.g., the effect of drugs on cognition, including in psychological disorders.

This course also provides an insight into the main components and debates around human memory e.g., a development of knowledge, forgetting processes, memory errors, and language e.g., acquisition, comprehension and production as well as a range of approaches to the study of human perception, from historical beginnings to recent innovative research.
