This course aims to provide students with a broad and integrated knowledge of the value of Health and Well-being to children's lives and learning. Students will explore philosophical approaches to Health & Well-being as well as a range of ways that health and well-being can be integrated into the primary school curriculum with a specific focus on current educational issues in Scotland.

Students will develop knowledge and understanding of different philosophical views on health and well-being, especially within the Scottish landscape. Students will also investigate the Scottish health and well-being curriculum content and pedagogical approaches to support learning in this core area.
The course develops links between education and other professionals linked to health and well-being, including professional partners in health. Occupational therapy, school health, sexual health and mental health services are some of the professions linked to.
