The Paediatric Dentistry Case Report showcases the students’ skills and ability in paediatric dentistry. It should reference a paediatric patient the student has treated and should include clinical photographs, descriptions of clinical treatment and reflection, all supported by current evidence.

The course is only open to students on the BDS course, and it forms part of the overall summative assessment for competency in the paediatric element of the course in BDS5.
Each student is required to present one fully documented case to demonstrate competency in the management of a child patient that has been seen within the Paediatric Dentistry Clinic.
All treatment should be undertaken by the student submitting the case. This should be a full treatment plan from examination and treatment planning to completing all treatment and selecting an appropriate recall period.
The patient must be under the age of 16 at the commencement of treatment and all outstanding work must be completed at the time of submission of each case. All documentation which is submitted including photographs and radiographs which could identify the patient should have all patient identifiers removed and only patient initials gender and age should be provided.
