This course will develop knowledge and understanding of learning and teaching in music education contexts. Through reflection and practical engagement, students will further develop a range of skills essential for teaching music in the secondary school.

This course will begin to develop knowledge and understanding of how children and young people learn. Students will begin to develop capacities and practical skills that enable them to prepare, plan, and implement learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation of learners.

Formative feedback will be ongoing throughout the field experience and self-reflection and collaborative peer discussion will be encouraged throughout the course.
