Course Description

Dissertation of 10,000 words on an approved musicological topic.

The dissertation is an opportunity to manage a larger-scale project on a topic that interests you, and to demonstrate your ability to undertake independent research and study.

To get the most out of the supervision on offer, it is important:
• to work consistently throughout the year, organising your time efficiently;
• to be able to report on progress at each supervision;
• to have produced some work (not necessarily written) for each supervision that can be the focus of discussion within the group, or between you and the supervisor;
• to attend supervisions with a clear sense of what you hope to gain from them – for example, by bringing a list of questions and queries with you.
