Course Overview

This course builds on the material that is covered in the 1st-year courses expanding on psychology’s concepts and theories. The course covers four core areas of psychology, Developmental, Clinical, Social and Perception.  The Lectures on Developmental Psychology covers both cognitive and emotional development across the lifespan. The clinical psychology section of the course will give you grounding in the key ideas within current Clinical Psychology practice and is taught by a practicing Clinical Psychology. Social Psychology will cover topics such as leadership and group processes. The Perception part of the course will examine the visual and intentional systems.

Summative Assessments

1st Attempt: 1 two-hour examination (60%); continuous assessment (30%) - essay (no more than 2,000 words), workshop (10%).

Resit: 1 two-hour examination (60%). Continuous assessment marks will remain unchanged.

Formative Assessment

There are formative assessments associated with the lecture programme.
