Course Overview

This Gaelic reading course is offered in conjunction with GH1007 Gaelic for Beginners 1A. 

It aims to improve your vocabulary, fluency and command of language structures through practising reading out loud and through reading comprehension exercises. 

The course is aimed primarily at those students who aim to become fluent in Gaelic and who expect to continue with Gaelic to degree level.

Course Description

The course will develop understanding, fluency and the ability to use the language correctly through the study of a range of written materials, including authentic texts. It will encourage written and oral reflection using basic Gaelic sentence structures.

Summative Assessments

1st Attempt: 100% based on 4 excercises Resit: Examination (100%), comprising translation and comprehension excercises based on two set texts.

Feedback is given verbally in class to give students an indication of progress. All formal assessments will be given a CAS mark together with written and verbal feedback.
