Course Description

The course contributes to the students' learning as follows:

  • Enhance the understanding the processes in the real estate sector in an international context, such as property investment, development, planning, or project management.
  • The ability to analyse diverse drivers in the real estate markets, such as drivers in investment, property development, project management, and / or planning decisions.
  • The ability to critically assess the reasons for the relative success or failure of specific investments and development projects.
  • The ability to compare and contract market and institutional factors across different international real estate markets.

Students will achieve these learning objectives through materials presented and interactions in site visits, seminars, lectures and discussions with professionals in real estate investment, development and agency in Asian cities. Students therefore will be required to follow a rigorous schedule and carry out independent research before, during and after the tour to compile the data necessary to complete the project-based assessment.
