This course aims to introduce students to, and support them in developing, the professional skills necessary for postgraduate study in psychology. The course will cover a range of relevant topics including project management, research ethics, open science, communication with different audiences, and the use of AI.

This course will introduce and discuss concepts relevant to postgraduate study in psychology and skills relevant for communicating with non-academic audiences. Core topics that will be covered include: effective project management, research ethics, open science and open data, communication within a team and with industry partners, and implications of the use of AI for learning and research.

A1 size Poster, to be submitted via Turnitin, detailing a core professional concept and presenting it in a way suitable for a specific stakeholder group. Will also encompass element of self-reflection. Assessment brief will be provided. Feedback shared via Turnitin marking rubric, and associated quickmarks. |

2,500-word Individual report. The assessment will comprise evaluation of a professional scenario, with the aim of identifying the key issues, and producing recommendations to deal with those issues. The students will be provided with an assessment brief and will submit their work via Turnitin. A marking rubric and Turnitin quickmarks will be used to provide feedback.
