This course introduces key concepts, concerns and methodologies within Comparative Literary Studies. It allows students to develop skills in textual analysis and critical debate, applied to the study of a specific set of culturally diverse texts.

This course introduces key concepts, concerns and methodologies within Comparative Literary Studies. Key areas will typically include, but are not limited to: transnational processes and encounters, world literature, translation and adaptation, decolonisation, environmental and digital humanities, gender, and intermediality, as well as fields such as cultural studies and area studies, and interdisciplinary approaches.
The course allows students to develop skills in textual analysis and critical debate, applied to the study of a specific set of culturally diverse texts. Students will study both literary and theoretical texts, and will be able to pursue further research on specific texts and topics.
