Course Description

This course will focus on understanding the role of technology and the application of digital tools in pedagogical frameworks, e.g. instructivist, social and cognitive constructivist in face-to-face, distance and virtual learning environments for second language teaching and learning. Students will be provided with opportunities to practise teaching in technology-mediated classrooms. This course will enhance student learning and satisfaction in technologically advanced classrooms in traditional (face-to-face) and virtual settings. This course will also help students to understand and evaluate the challenges associated with digital tools and face-to-face and online teaching and learning modes (e.g. learner engagement in synchronous and asynchronous environments). This elective module enhances students’ digital skills and addresses the current need and demand for technology integration in online and blended learning contexts globally.
