Course Overview

This course presents the fundamental concepts of Cyber Security, including but not limited to cryptography, network protocols, access control, authentication, security management and web security. This course provides students with the Cyber Security principles for continuing learning and working in the area of Cyber Security.

Course Description

In this course, students will be exposed to fundamental concepts of Cyber security. By completing the course, students should be able to do the following things: 

  • Understand and apply the concepts and applications of modern cryptography 
  • Understand and apply security management policies  
  • Have the skills to apply access control rules 
  • Able to analyse security of network protocols 
  • Understand the attacks and defences in web security
