Course Description

The programme aims to provide an intellectually challenging academic programme of study, which will demand of the student the ability to analyse, synthesise and evaluate key theoretical concepts and practical applications for organisations operating in the international environment.

Throughout this module, the aim will be to achieve a balance between practice and theory and students will be asked to critically evaluate the theories, concepts and examples that are presented. The tuition will consist of mini-lecture with discussion, mini - case study analysis and discussion and one to one and one to group meetings to discuss assessment and for formative feedback.

Select an industry of interest and develop an appraisal, using all available sources of information, of the supply chain challenges and opportunities in the industry.

Present your findings using Pechakucha style presentation. This requires you to present 20 PowerPoint slides which are pre-timed in the presentation at 20 seconds per slide.

Part A: 1500 words. Define the problem and set out a remit for a consultant that clearly describes the scope of an investigative project to find a solution for the client.

Part B: 2000 words. Carry out the investigation and prepare consultants initial report that will focus the client attention on the root causes of the problem or challenge and set out the basis for a solution.
