This course examines how the behaviour of health professionals can impact on patient care and service delivery, and trains students in key professional practice skills such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and health coaching.

·         Patient-professional communication/interaction

·         Designing interventions to change health professional behaviour

·         Non-technical skills

Structured placement report (50%); Placement presentation (10%); practical skills demonstration (30%, divided between motivational interviewing (5%), CBT (5%) and health coaching (20%)); Professional competency assessment (10%).
