DE5042: GETTING BETTER AT GENERAL PRACTICE

20 credits

Level 5

First Sub Session

This is the first course in the programme and it will provide a firm foundation for studies in advanced restorative general practice. It will provide the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills whilst ensuring developing concepts to underpin future studies. It will be delivered through a series of webinars and a 4 day residential at the University of Aberdeen enabling Postgraduates to join the university in person.

DE5044: MSC DISSERTATION - ADVANCED GENERAL DENTAL PRACTICE

20 credits

Full Year

This course offers students the opportunity to complete a substantial piece of data-driven, empirical work within the field of restorative dentistry. It involves working on an independent research project under the supervision of an experienced researcher prior to completion of a write up in the style of an academic article for publication. Alongside supervisors, students will identify a suitable topic area, describe an appropriate study design and implement an empirical study.  Students will be involved alongside the supervisors in the process of defining the research question, and developing the research plan, and where appropriate obtaining all regulatory approvals.

DE5517: EXPANDING PROSTHODONTIC SKILLS FOR THE ADVANCED GENERAL PRACTITIONER

20 credits

Level 5

Full Year

This is the second course in the programme and it will build upon the firm foundation for studies in advanced restorative general practice. It will provide the an up to date review of fixed prosthodontics.

DE5518: THE PERIO-ENDO COMPLEX UNRAVELLED

20 credits

Level 5

First Sub Session

This is the third course in the programme which focuses on endodontics and the relationship between the endodontic canal system and the periodontium.

DE5520: THE BUSINESS OF ADVANCED GENERAL PRACTICE

20 credits

Level 5

Second Sub Session

The penultimate course explores the business of Advanced General Practice
