This course will cover fluid flow and behaviour in the well bore, with emphasis on factors which inhibit oil and gas production as well as practical approaches to production enhancement. Computer modelling of oil and gas production is introduced. Safety and ability to respond to changing situations are emphasised. A range of industry relevant case studies are used to support students’ learning.
Information on contact teaching time is available from the course guide.
1 three-hour written examination paper (90%), continuous assessment (10%).
The continuous assessment will be based on computer simulation of oil and gas production using industry standard software.
Resit: 1 three-hour written examination paper (90%) and the continuous assessment mark from the first attempt (10%).
There are no assessments for this course.
a) Assessment grade and feedback comments will be provided on the coursework report.
