Katie Wilde is presenting at the OGTC Smarter Innovation, Smarter Basin Session

Smart cities are now becoming reality and predictive analytics are no longer reliant on the cognitive powers of human beings but are now founded on ever more sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms that can interpret and learn from the vast volumes of data being generated.

Can the future integration of data, predictive analytics and human ingenuity unlock the full potential of our limited resources, help drive efficiencies and just maybe help drive a change in behaviours across the oil & gas industry?

The Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) and the National Decommissioning Centre (NDC) are working to develop a “smart basin” concept – an integrated platform that accesses data from all assets in the UKCS, fixed, floating and mobile, human, machine and environmental. State of the art data analytics will analyse, interpret and learn from the data – providing insights into the future. Couple this with an immersive user interface able to present graphically these insights in a way that we as human beings can understand, a way in which we can scenario plan and make decisions – not at an asset level, but at a basin level. This new perspective and new level of understanding will open untold opportunities to enhance how we as an industry engage with each other, how we operate, and how we embrace the energy transition as an intrinsic part of the solution.

Katie Wilde, will talk about the experience in health research and development of the Grampian Data Safe Haven (DaSH), a secure environment for linkage and analysis of health data for research to improve health and healthcare.
