This meeting of the Cross Party Group on International Development will discuss the Scottish Government’s International Development Strategy (due to be published at the end of this month) and a focus spot on Rwanda.
We have invited the Minister Alasdair Allan MSP to speak about the new strategy, which will allow us the chance to hear first-hand the Government's thoughts on the issue and give people the opportunity to question and make comment on the strategy.
The Scottish Government has now formally identified three priority countries Malawi, Rwanda, and Zambia (and a strong emphasis on education through scholarships in Pakistan).
At this meeting, Professor Pamela Abbott, Director Centre for Global Development at Aberdeen University, and Paul Johnston, Head of Programme Management from Tearfund will give the group some of their thoughts and knowledge about Rwanda.
