126th Annual Torcher Parade

On 28 March, thousands of students in fancy dress will take to the streets of Aberdeen for the 126th Torcher Parade.

The event, which is Europe’s largest student-led parade, raises thousands of pounds for local charities every year.

The 126th parade will see 30 torch bearers lead more than 2,000 coin collecting students, and their floats, around the city centre whilst generous spectators join in the festivities by donating anything from pennies to pounds.  

Organised by the Aberdeen University Student Association, the parade needs more than 100 volunteers to run smoothly and there are still opportunities to get involved. If you’d like to join in the fun and help raise money for more than 30 local charities, staff and students can:
