The University of Aberdeen Events Team is part of the Communications team within the department of External Affairs and is responsible for organising the Institution's flagship cultural and corporate events. Each year the Events team manage a wide range of events, from lectures with leading figures from public life to high-profile concerts, international conferences, the Word Festival, the Aberdeen Music Prize and Director’s Cut.
The Events Team combine organisational skills with a sound arts and business acumen. The team manage a wide-range of events including lectures, concerts, international conferences, Gala Receptions and children’s events.
Jill joined the University of Aberdeen in 2005 after completing a degree in Corporate Communication. Jill is the local Festival Co-ordinator forthe British Science Festival 2012 - the largest science Festival in Europe is hosted by the University of Aberdeen and TechFest-SetPoint. Jill works heavily with the Public Engagement with Science Unit and helps assist with the Cafe Scientifique programme which is now the largest in Scotland. Jill also manages the Schools' and Children's Programme as part of the Word Festival and has done since 2007. Jill has an interest in science, literature, sport and children's events.

Sarah joined the Office of External Affairs as an Events Co-ordinator from a varied background in events having worked for West Lothian Council’s Arts Service, The Glasgow International Jazz Festival, T in the Park and most recently as Marketing and Events Manager for PPL, the UK music licensing body. Sarah organises cultural and corporate events and has a key focus on sponsorship and fundraising activities for the University’s events and building partnerships with corporate and public organisations with an interest in Sports, Culture and the Arts.

Anne recently joined the Events Office from the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce where she worked as Senior Events Co-ordinator. Prior to that Anne held a variety of roles in both Edinburgh and Glasgow across the voluntary and public sectors, including most recently as Regional Communicatons Manager for children's charity the NSPCC. Anne organises a variety of public, cultural and corporate events on behalf of the University, including the Director's Cut series.
