The University of Aberdeen Events Team is part of the Student Recruitment, Marketing & Alumni Team within the department of External Affairs, and is responsible for organising the Institution's flagship cultural and corporate events. Each year the Events team manage a wide range of events, from lectures with leading figures from public life to high-profile concerts, international conferences and festivals.
The Events Team combine organisational skills with a sound arts and business acumen. The team manage a wide-range of events including lectures, concerts, international conferences, Gala Receptions and children’s events.
Katy Bowman – Events and Engagement ExecutiveAfter completing her degree in Business Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Katy went to work for First Minister Alex Salmond MSP for three years before moving into the events sector. Since joining the University of Aberdeen, Katy has worked on the British Science Festival and the official opening of the Sir Duncan Rice Library. She focuses on the sponsorship, funding, branding and marketing of events and is currently co-ordinating the University of Aberdeen May Festival, due to take place in 2013. Katy will oversee programme production, marketing, logistics, budget and sponsorship management.

Jill joined the University of Aberdeen in 2005 after completing a degree in Corporate Communication. Jill was the local Festival Co-ordinator for the British Science Festival 2012 - the largest science Festival in Europe. Jill works heavily with the Public Engagement with Research Unit and assists with the Community Café programme which is now the largest in Scotland. Jill also manages the Schools' and Children's Programme as part of the University’s May Festival and oversees all programme production, marketing, logistics, budget and sponsorship management.
