This event will discuss The Bloodhound SSC project; a car which can run up to 1,000 mph.
The BloodhoundSSC project is working to use the challenges posed by designing, building and running a car that will reach 1,000 mph –to engage and enthuse the next generation to embrace STEM subjects throughout their educational journey. This talk – by Dr John Lanham, UWE-Bristol, who leads the university level educational activities of BloodhoundSSC , will present the project and its challenges and outline some of the technical solutions developed by the team to design a car that will run at 1,000 mph. The talk will also outline the core educational activities of the project and share examples of the ways in which the project has linked into education across the age range – from primary schools to university design projects.
