Inaugural Northern Institute of Philosophy Annual Lecture - The Matrix as Metaphysics

Inaugural Northern Institute of Philosophy Annual Lecture - The Matrix as Metaphysics

This is a past event

The film 'The Matrix' portrays the disquieting possibility that the world we take to be real is in fact a large-scale computer simulation. But could we really be deceived in this way, and if we were, would it be a bad thing?

Part of our new Cafe Philisophique series, this lecture will start at 7pm followed by a screening of The Matrix at 8.45pm.

The event is free to attend, but booking is strongly recommended. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the Belmont Cinema hotline on 08719 025 721 or in person at the cinema.
