A fascinating day of shows, hands-on science, exhibitions and talks at Satrosphere Science Centre.

We’re delighted to welcome you to this year’s Discovery Day being held at Satrosphere Science Centre on Saturday 17 March to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week and its theme of ‘Our World in Motion’ Entry to the centre is only £1 per person, and there are whole range of activities to try out.  See Birds of Prey and learn about the physics of flight; learn about the Secret Life of the Skeleton with the University of Aberdeen’s interactive science show; crawl, slither and slide with the help of Mr Bug; make you own plastic with Aberdeen Maritime Museum; Play Robot Croquet with Robert Gordon University. Plus much more.

 

There is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Activities and shows will run throughout the day but capacity at some activities is limited, so please arrive early to plan your day.

 

The Discovery Day is part of a week of events for National Science and Engineering Week taking place from 9 to 18 March - the UK’s biggest national celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths. 

 

The programme is supported by BP, the University of Aberdeen and the Scottish Government and involves over 20 partner organisation from across the city and Aberdeenshire. There is something for all ages an interests so check out the programme now - most events are free but some events do require booking.
