Cafe Scientifique - World Population: Is It Growing Too Fast or Too Slowly?

This is a past event

Come along to the brand new 2011 season of Cafe Scientifique. All events commence at 7pm in Waterstone's, Union Bridge Branch.

Come and join us for the first Cafe Scientifique City session of 2011.  The evening’s topic will be “World Population: Is it growing too fast, or too slow” and will be presented by University of Aberdeen Principal Professor Ian Diamond and introduced and chaired by Professor Wendy Graham of the University of Aberdeen.  With the world’s population expected to grow by 50% by 2050, is there enough food, water and energy to go round or will longevity present new challenges?

The proceedings begin at 7pm and there will be plenty time for discussion.  Please arrive early as we expect this session and the subject matter to be busy.  As always, drinks will be available for purchase at the Costa bar and there will be time to find about our upcoming events later in the year.
