All Quiet on the Western Front

All Quiet on the Western Front
-

This is a past event

Life on the Western Front for soldiers was atrocious. Unimaginable horror in the trenches, a dreadful death toll and appalling wounds suffered by casualties of the Great War.

Three surgeons give an insight into the challenges faced by medics who cared for the wounded on the First World War battlefields.

They will reveal the contributions made to the medical war effort by University of Aberdeen graduates Sir Henry Gray, later knighted for his work, and Sir Gordon Gordon-Taylor.

Orthopaedic surgeons Tom Scotland and Bill Ledingham, and general and breast cancer surgeon Steve Heys, spent will share their impressions of life on the frontline during this timely talk.

Join them on this, the 11th day of the 11th month, when the guns fell silent on the Western Front, bringing an end to the War that was thought would end all wars.
