What is the Postgraduate & Online Application Portal?

The Postgraduate & Online Application Portal is an online system which allows anyone to register and apply for postgraduate taught, online, education and research study at the University of Aberdeen. Multiple applications to study and offers made by the University can be managed through this system.

How do I get access to the portal?

To access the portal you must first register an account with us. You can register an account here. You will be asked to supply your name, date of birth and email address. Once this step has been completed an email containing a unique code and instructions on what to do next will be sent to the email address you registered with. Once these steps have been completed you will be able to log in to the portal and start your application.

I did not receive an email when I registered an account. What do I do now?

If you have not received a confirmation email 20 minutes after registering an account please, in the first instance, check your spam/junk folders. Failing that, complete the registration form again to receive a reminder registration email. If you still have not received an email, please contact our IT Service Desk at servicedesk@abdn.ac.uk where a member of staff will be able to assist you. Note the Service Desk operating hours are 0900 - 1700 (UK Time), Monday - Friday.

Where do I access the portal?

You can access the portal via the login page. You will need to supply your username (the email address you registered with) and the password you set during the registration process. If you have forgotten this password see below for instructions on how to reset it.

I've forgotten my password - how do I reset it?

You can reset your password here. It is advisable to set a strong password which is not easily guessable. To do this you should use a combination of lower case and upper case letters, numbers and special characters e.g. ! £ $ ?. Avoid using simple words, such as "password" or "aberdeen". Passwords must be between 8-25 characters long.

I'm having difficulties logging in / am experiencing technical difficulties with the site.

About site maintenance

Occasionally the portal may be taken offline for maintenance or updates. If this is the case you will be logged out and redirected to a page displaying the downtimes. You will not be able to log in until the maintenance period has elapsed.
